MadRat Games was founded by a team of 3 IIT grads (Comp Sc, IIT Bombay & Carnegie Mellon; Design, IIT Guwahati). They moved from the software world to teaching young children at an alternate education center called Rishi Valley School for 4 years. Their flagship product is Aksharit - the first Indian language word game (~ Indian Scrabble). It has reached 3000 schools in 2 yrs through four state govts. Its digital versions have been launched in partnership with Nokia (on 5 Lakh touchphones), Intel (AppUp store) and Google (official partner for Chromebook's India launch).
MadRat Games has received two international awards in the form of the Manthan International Award and INK (TED India) Fellow 2011, was invited to speak at Asia's largest Entrepreneurial Summit hosted by TiE on 'Ideas that Impact' for the last 2 years, and was featured as a Cover Story in The WEEK magazine's republic day edition, alongwith Education World, Economic Times, MINT, The Hindu, Hindustan Times, INC magazine (pg 72,73), Entrepreneur magazine and DARE.
